This August, UPMADE IN. EE brings a new wave of Estonian circular design to Toronto, highlighting how creativity, craftsmanship and innovation can reshape the future of fashion and product design.

Taking place from August 15–23, 2026 at Studio LL-108, the exhibition and pop-up presents the work of nearly 40 Estonian designers, offering a snapshot of Estonia’s distinctive approach to sustainable and forward-looking design.

Developed in collaboration with Tallinn Design Festival / Disainiöö and KESKUS International Estonian Centre, the showcase explores a wide spectrum of circular design practices — from upcycling and traditional craft to biomaterials, 3D printing and digital innovation. The exhibition is curated by Reet Aus and Ilona Gurjanova.

The programme culminates in the Canadian premiere and special reception on August 20, bringing together designers, guests and the local creative community. Held as part of KESKfEST, the evening also coincides with the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Estonia’s independence.

Alongside the exhibition, visitors can take part in a series of special events. Denim Reborn upcycling workshops led by Reet Aus and Eva-Karlotta Tatar will take place on August 21 and 22, while the August 22 programme also features conversations on sustainable Estonian design, a live fashion photoshoot and a discussion with Reet Aus and Annika Lautens on circular fashion and alternatives to fast fashion.

UPMADE IN. EE offers Toronto audiences a chance to discover contemporary Estonian design through objects, fashion, ideas and hands-on experiences — and to see how a small design nation is approaching some of the industry’s biggest questions.
