A brilliant and elegant harmony of ball bearings and a symphony of cylinders, an insight in the middle of a futuristic fantasy city growing block by block – for the first time, Arne Maasik will install his new version of geometric machine aesthetics in real time directly in front of the audience on Saturday, October 4th from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Tallinn Design Festival in the Krulli Quarter (INTERIOR+ area).
After Tallinn Design Festival the installation will move to the satellite exhibition in the lobby of the Maakri Quarter (Maakri 19/21) and will remain there for viewing until the spring of 2026 on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The first version of “Insight” has previously been exhibited at the ARS showroom, while similar installation “Still Life” at the Kadriorg Art Museum. Photographs created about the previous installations are on display in both the Krulli and Maakri Quarters.
Arne Maasik (1971) graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1995 and a Master of Architecture in 1997. He has worked as an architect, photographer, creative director, and lecturer. He has contributed to domestic and foreign architecture and art publications. Arne Maasik's works can be found in the collections of the Art Museum of Estonia and the Estonian Museum of Architecture, as well as in several private collections in Estonia, Finland, and the USA.
