Led by Reet Aus, a collective consisting of Päär Pärenson aka J.O.C, Viljandi Culture Academy students and a surprise performer takes to the stage to bring the audience a spectacle that is not afraid to ask: Who are we when we are being watched? Who are we when we are not seen?

To mark the anniversary of Tallinn Design Festival, a mirage-like art project Klub Silencio will be opened, featuring prominent artists, designers, and EAA, TalTech, and Tartu Art School. The project is produced with the Stalker Museum and pays tribute to David Lynch and his Lynchian world. Appropriate music and moving images are not missing either.
Raoul Kurvitz, Lauri Lest, Raul Keller, Tarmo Luisk, Leonardo Meigas, Aleksandr Zhedeljov, Kincső Keglevich and others will participate. The Naive Genius pop-up bar will open during the evening hours.

This dilapidated industrial space, which functions as an exhibition space during the day, will on Friday night take on a new guise, featuring a programme with three unique music and art ensembles taking to the stage:

Lauri Lest (b. 1983) is an Estonian musician, sound and performance artist. Lauri creates and plays atmospheric electronic music, works with found objects, vibration speakers, lights and sound and video editing software. His art can be described as melancholic, dreamy, experimental and sometimes humorous. He released his third studio album “Undercurrents” in April 2025 and holds a degree in sculpture and installation from the Estonian Academy of Arts.

Apparatus&Apparata is an electronic dark ambient/spoken word trio centred on the tension between female vocals and accompanying text flow. Reti Pauklin's delicate vocals radiate purity, reminiscent of Julee Cruise or Chrysta Bell's fragile moments. Jürgen Reismaa (composer) has his musical roots in industrial, but instead of monotony, he has created an original, narrative melodiousness that at times resembles the more lyrical side of Forgotten Sunrise. Together with Taavi Eelmaa's (lyrics/spoken word) recitative spoken word, all this creates a dramatic cocktail that tastes bitter and enchanting, like a glass of witchcraft in an unknown bar.

Solei is a choreographer and dancer who is active both in her home country and internationally, collaborating with various collectives, choreographers, and institutions. In her work, she explores the complexity of human nature. Inspired by natural textures, her works take place in changing processes, reflecting the fluid and living nature of embodiment. A space is created where presence within oneself is transferred into a shared spatial experience with others.
She graduated from the Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School and has recently performed at the Independent Dance Stage, Niguliste Church, Estonian National Opera, Centro Coreográfico de La Gomera (Spain), Dansverkstæðið (Iceland), Dansekapellet and Aveny-T (Denmark).

The geometric machine aesthetics in installative form by the photo artist Arne Maasik is like a model of a futuristic fantasy city. The first version of “Insight” has been exhibited in the ARS showroom, while “Still Life” at the Kadriorg Art Museum.
In Maakri Quarter, photographs created from the previous installations are on display as well as a newly completed version of the installation (come and see the progress during the festival in Krulli Quarter!).

The Adamson-Eric Museum displays the oeuvre of one of the most versatile Estonian artists, Adamson-Eric. The collection of the museum was started with a generous donation from the artist’s wife, Mari Adamson, who gave the museum nearly a thousand works of art of different genres and techniques, most of which can be viewed in the permanent exposition.
On September 30, a textile bag painting workshop in sign language will take place at the Adamson-Eric Museum, led by deaf artist Angelina Petrova.

Founded in Tallinn in 2018, slow fashion brand B.MOR Studio was established by Anna Chirkova, a former engineer. Her sensitivity to synthetic fabrics led to a mission to create clothing that supports human well-being.
B.MOR Studio seeks solutions in the apparel business through sustainability, timelessness, and functionality. The “ITTAI” collection grew out of a touching story: her parents’ classic menswear store operated for almost three decades, until the covid-pandemic brought it to an end. The remaining pieces like shirts, jackets, and pants were put away in cardboard boxes until now reimagined into a new function as modern unisex items.
The “ITTAI” collection grew out of a story deeply personal to Anna. For nearly three decades, her parents ran a classic menswear shop, which the pandemic eventually brought to an end. The remaining shirts, jackets, and trousers were given a new beginning – transformed into unisex garments through redesign.
At the core of the collection are reimagined menswear pieces alongside garments made from vintage fabrics and deadstock materials. Among the rare finds is a fabric from the Keila textile factory dating back to 1988 – a genuine fragment of Estonian fashion heritage. Complementing the collection are B.MOR Studio accessories: leather mini bags, shopper bags with recycled shoe-sole bases, and caps adorned with golden costume jewelry.
Three guiding principles shape Anna’s work. Firstly, skin- and user-friendliness – having sensitive skin herself, she tests every new design on her own body to ensure comfort and safety. Secondly, she merges her engineering background with fashion design, bringing scientific precision and technological innovation into her creative process. She’s continuing to expand this knowledge in the master’s program in Textile and Polymer Technology studies at TalTech. Thirdly, her practice is rooted in upcycling and sustainability.
ITTAI is both a personal family narrative and a manifesto of upcycling, transformed into an experimental collection that will be turned into a design model to produce the item again and again. These garments and accessories give voice to forgotten stocks, turning them into modern apparel.

Lentsius – harmony between material, form and environment.
The Lentsius brand aims to offer the wearer a more sustainable version of everyday jewelry and clothing. In her work, designer Kairi Lentsius always adheres to the principle “Less is more” and explores unexpected combinations of material, technology and form. Lentsius products have a Scandinavian chic style and are made in Tartu.
At the DOM show, Lentsius presents a new clothing collection and the "Sunlit" jewelry series, bringing together the charm of used military textiles and innovative techniques of metalwork. The garments are made from upcycled materials, valuing the natural aging of fabric and the traces left by sun, rain, and snow. Designer Kairi Lentsius focuses on adding value through form and embroidery. The coats protect like tents, adorned with machine-stitched leaf patterns drawn from the forest.
The brand sends kindest thanks to tailors Annika Lätt and Reet Vaga, Estonian Defence Forces for their long-standing and successful collaboration, Mart Lentsius for bringing the idea of jewellery into real life; TalTech, Eron Adoberg, and the Tartu Cultural Endowment.

In Maakri Quarter, photographs created from the previous installations are on display as well as a newly completed version of the installation (come and see the progress during the festival in Krulli Quarter!).

Tallinn Design Festival's international conference returns as part of the main program. The theme this year carries the title of "Celebrating Diversity, Creating Equality".
The conference aims to explore the principles and practices of inclusive design, bringing together a diverse range of speakers and experts from around the world. The event will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and presentations on various aspects of inclusive design.
Keynote speakers include Patricia Moore from the USA, Rama Gheerawo from the UK, Jannicke Hølen & Knut Bang from Norway, Anders Berggreen from Denmark, and Jakob Rosin & Teet Kallaste from Estonia, who will share their insights and experiences in promoting universal design.
Ilona Gurjanova will provide an introduction, setting the stage for the day's discussions. Following this, representatives from Estonia, Belgium, Norway, Italy, and Poland will share their perspectives on inclusive design and its impact on different communities.

Flash talk format PechaKucha returns to Tallinn Design Festival program for a reason. PechaKucha (Japanese for “chit chat”) with its compact format – 20 slides x 20 seconds for presenting your idea – forces the person on stage to think out of the standard presentation’s framework, thus guaranteeing freshness.
PechaKucha was developed in 2003 by designers from the Tokyo-based architecture firm Klein&Dytham as a way of sharing ideas and creations with others. PechaKucha is a global fenomenon used by more than four million people.

To mark the anniversary of Tallinn Design Festival, a mirage-like art project Klub Silencio will be opened, featuring prominent artists, designers, and EAA, TalTech, and Tartu Art School. The project is produced with the Stalker Museum and pays tribute to David Lynch and his Lynchian world. Appropriate music and moving images are not missing either.
Raoul Kurvitz, Lauri Lest, Raul Keller, Tarmo Luisk, Leonardo Meigas, Aleksandr Zhedeljov, Kincső Keglevich and others will participate. The Naive Genius pop-up bar will open during the evening hours.

This dilapidated industrial space, which functions as an exhibition space during the day, will on Friday night take on a new guise, featuring a programme with three unique music and art ensembles taking to the stage:

Lauri Lest (b. 1983) is an Estonian musician, sound and performance artist. Lauri creates and plays atmospheric electronic music, works with found objects, vibration speakers, lights and sound and video editing software. His art can be described as melancholic, dreamy, experimental and sometimes humorous. He released his third studio album “Undercurrents” in April 2025 and holds a degree in sculpture and installation from the Estonian Academy of Arts.

Apparatus&Apparata is an electronic dark ambient/spoken word trio centred on the tension between female vocals and accompanying text flow. Reti Pauklin's delicate vocals radiate purity, reminiscent of Julee Cruise or Chrysta Bell's fragile moments. Jürgen Reismaa (composer) has his musical roots in industrial, but instead of monotony, he has created an original, narrative melodiousness that at times resembles the more lyrical side of Forgotten Sunrise. Together with Taavi Eelmaa's (lyrics/spoken word) recitative spoken word, all this creates a dramatic cocktail that tastes bitter and enchanting, like a glass of witchcraft in an unknown bar.

Solei is a choreographer and dancer who is active both in her home country and internationally, collaborating with various collectives, choreographers, and institutions. In her work, she explores the complexity of human nature. Inspired by natural textures, her works take place in changing processes, reflecting the fluid and living nature of embodiment. A space is created where presence within oneself is transferred into a shared spatial experience with others.
She graduated from the Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School and has recently performed at the Independent Dance Stage, Niguliste Church, Estonian National Opera, Centro Coreográfico de La Gomera (Spain), Dansverkstæðið (Iceland), Dansekapellet and Aveny-T (Denmark).

The tour is curated by landscape architects Aljona Galazan and Maali Roomet-Allese.
Aljona promotes human-friendly urban space and cycling as an everyday mode of transport, while Maali translates complex spatial issues into practical community activities.
An accessible city space is one where everyone can move, play, and feel safe – regardless of age, ability, or background. At some point in life, anyone may face challenges in mobility or spatial use, and a supportive environment becomes the key to quality of life.
A safe cycling network and access to urban gardening and shared activities close to home open up city space and services to everyone – including those with limited opportunities. These topics are often treated separately, as if they were only the needs of narrow interest groups, but viewed through the lens of social cohesion, a much broader picture emerges.
During the bike tour, we will experience and discuss all of this together.
Come with your own bike or rent one on site – you can also join with a scooter, unicycle, or electric wheelchair.
(The tour is a practical continuation of the PechaKucha talks, and we recommend attending both.)

AS Franz Krull was a metalworking and engineering company founded in 1865 in Narva by Franz Krull, a coppersmith, during the Russian Empire and the first Estonian Republic. In 1875, AS Franz Krull moved to Tallinn, where it developed over time into one of Estonia's largest and most modern machine-building companies.
Specifically in Kopli, one of Tallinn's oldest large factories, the Krull factory, opened its doors 110 years ago. This and much more will be spoken about on the tour!

The exhibition “Shadows and Things” focuses on the handmade objects of the Estonian-Georgian collective Garbage Kids. In their work, they search for the elusive essence of myths and have this time chosen to use shadows as their medium.

As a lovely tradition, the Tallinn Design Festival outdoor areas are curated by the Estonian Association of Landscape Architects. This year, they created a welcoming public space in the industrial setting of Krulli, together with Extery and Lode.
All guests are invited to meet, relax, and enjoy fresh air with a touch of urban greenery.
Well-designed urban space can be accessible and meaningful for everyone, regardless of age or mobility. Come experience and reflect on what kind of spaces people truly need!

Let's rev up – the renowned Design Street opens once again as a part of the festival weekend.
No driver’s license is needed to explore the Design Street and there's plenty of room for wanderers on foot! Here you can stroll through and discover lots of great fashion-, accessory-, product- and interior design.
In addition, the “alley” next to Design Street deserves a visit already from the first day of the festival, because the mini-fair INTERIOR+ is returning for the second year in a row. So go on, get acquainted with local interior and industrial products.

It's Tallinn Design Festival anniversary, and of course there has to be a party – a DesignNIGHTParty!
Though they have performed only rarely in recent years, I Wear* Experiment remain as energetic and epic as ever. For Autumn Jazz, they take to the Tallinn Design Festival’s stage with an exclusive, ambitious programme, unveiling never-before-heard songs and premiering their new single Forest Fire.
The concert is conceived in two parts, beginning as an acoustic spectacle – where the trio is joined by the inviting sounds of backing vocals, viola da gamba, harp, and double bass – and building into a full-throttle electronic blaze.

Loreida Hein is an interior architect who graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) in 2002, furthered her studies at the Tallinn University of Applied Sciences (TTK) in applied architecture and more, and took a semester in engineering projects in Oslo. In 2004 she founded her own company, Stuudio La, and became a member of the Estonian Association of Interior Architects (ESL). In recent years she has has been employed by the leading construction and real estate development company Merko. Her side passions include art, dance, and winter swimming. At the end of October, she will launch a major croquis exhibition at the Postimees Media House and take part in a group exhibition at the Museum of Estonian Architecture. Stay tuned!
At the Tallinn Design Festival INTERIOR+ mini-fair, Loreida proudly presents the sculptural acoustic armchair SaLA, originally designed in 2018 for the Proact oƯice. For the fair, the chair has been dressed in a striking furry coat and complemented with reading light as well as a smaller sibling, SaLA M, without the acoustic shielding. The tall SaLA L chair has found its way into several public building projects, especially educational institutions, where the need for quiet, private spaces has been recognized. The easiest way to experience the chair yourself is to try it anytime in the lobby of Nordic Hotel Forum in the heart of Tallinn (ArtAku Interior Architecture Bureau, 2021).

In addition, Loreida will showcase the towel stand PiLE, designed in 2024 for a show apartment. It allows towels to be spread out for drying, clothes and hangers to be hung, bathroom items to be placed on its shelf, and can be extended with hooks if needed. Other furnishing elements with production potential were also created for the apartment and will soon appear in the online store (see info below).
With the same production partner, she has also developed the sturdy and stable umbrella stand HaLL, distinguished by its open base plate – it can be made, for example, from leftover tiles of the hallway or foyer to ensure a harmonious color scheme.
Products will be distributed by Designfurno.ee (website under update; for now, see this presentation for an overview).
At the fair, Loreida shares the stage with renowned interior architect Kard Subbi. Their long-standing partnership spans a wide range of projects — from oƯices, learning environments and exhibition stands to art projects, competitions and even co-hosting an interior design TV show. As part of a larger team, they developed the modular furniture line LESS, which is currently on hold while strong production and marketing partners are sought. This time, instead of joint authorship, both present their own creations — yet the conversation on stage is sure to be a fusion of both personalities’ ideas and perspectives.

The tour is curated by landscape architects Aljona Galazan and Maali Roomet-Allese.
Aljona promotes human-friendly urban space and cycling as an everyday mode of transport, while Maali translates complex spatial issues into practical community activities.
An accessible city space is one where everyone can move, play, and feel safe – regardless of age, ability, or background. At some point in life, anyone may face challenges in mobility or spatial use, and a supportive environment becomes the key to quality of life.
A safe cycling network and access to urban gardening and shared activities close to home open up city space and services to everyone – including those with limited opportunities. These topics are often treated separately, as if they were only the needs of narrow interest groups, but viewed through the lens of social cohesion, a much broader picture emerges.
During the bike tour, we will experience and discuss all of this together.
Come with your own bike or rent one on site – you can also join with a scooter, unicycle, or electric wheelchair.
(The tour is a practical continuation of the PechaKucha talks, and we recommend attending both.)

AS Franz Krull was a metalworking and engineering company founded in 1865 in Narva by Franz Krull, a coppersmith, during the Russian Empire and the first Estonian Republic. In 1875, AS Franz Krull moved to Tallinn, where it developed over time into one of Estonia's largest and most modern machine-building companies.
Specifically in Kopli, one of Tallinn's oldest large factories, the Krull factory, opened its doors 110 years ago. This and much more will be spoken about on the tour!

Yes, you can even ask something as simple as what color to paint your bedroom — it’s perfectly normal that, without photos, drawings, or a site visit, we can still point to just the right shade for you among 50,000 tones in a color fan :) We’ll bring the paint catalogues along, but in addition we’ll do our best to help with other questions too, so that you’ll at least leave with a direction to move forward. Consultations take place in a live queue, all together (let’s see, how it works).
At the Tallinn Design Festival's mini fair, Kard and Loreida will share a stage to showcase interior elements united by common themes: softening acoustics, creating private personal space, and — perhaps unexpectedly —umbrella stands. These two interior architects have a long history of collaboration: beyond co-hosting an interior design TV show, they have designed oƯices, learning environments, trade fair stands, as well as art projects, competitions, and furniture development.
